Installation

During the residency in Pune, India 2 installations are created.

  1. Vrit
The objects, placed in a circle, refer to a symbolic dance of Indian women and are made of household materials.
  2. Surrender
Created during a residency in Puna, India, the site-specific installation explores the situation of women in Indian society. as well as the artist's white feminine gaze.
Women's hands and feet have been photographed in the slums and printed on sari, the traditional clothing the women wear. The cloths are attached in a construction of bamboo sticks. These sticks are used for scaffolding that can be seen all over India. In front of the construction is a sculpture of a reclining figure on the floor.
